Repairing of Nikon Coolpix L14

What an unpleasant surprise when Spanish idyll of sandy coast would spoil the little grain of sand in your “eye”,
that is, inside the lens of your camera.
What do we do now. Sand in the lens and unpleasant message: “lens error”. Usually it’s sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism.
Or the camera’s been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension.
Or the battery ran down with the lens extended. Believe it or not, one BIG contributor to lens errors is using a camera case. Sand, gunk, case fibers, etc… accumulate at the bottom of the case.
Not help the strong justification and cleaning with a piece of paper. The device must be opened.
Remove the memory card and batteries and screwdrivers in hand. Once you unscrew only 28 miniature screws, access to clean the lens.
Three grains of sand obstructed the lens extension. After removing them, the error message disappear and camera work well.
I do it. I saved 45 euro because I did it alone, but not in specialized Nikon’s service.
