What’s new in this version 6 ….XML database structure redesign

Read, edit and parse the data outside of the EAGLE tool.

The new XML database structure provides the ability to write scripts that manipulate designs in the EAGLE format which will give users huge productivity benefits. You can make design changes, import information from other designs, and even translate from other formats. This is the first CAD database format to use ASCII text as a format and could become a standard in the industry for communicating designs – making EAGLE the most flexible, user friendly and productive PCB tool on the market.

iCircuit is the premier iPad and iPhone app for designing and experimenting with circuits. Its advanced simulation engine can handle both analog and digital circuits and features realtime always-on analysis. It is the perfect companion to students, hobbyists, and engineers.

You use it as you would any CAD program: you add elements, connect them together, and set their properties.

But iCircuit is unlike other CAD programs because it is always simulating. It’s just like working with the real circuit. You do not stop to take a measurement or spend a lot of time configuring reports. Instead, you just play with the circuit as you normally would, with the power on!

There are over 30 elements you can use to build your circuits. The app has everything from simple resistors, to switches, to MOSFETS, to digital gates.

Adding Custom Graphics to EAGLE PCB Layouts

The objective of this instructable is to show you how to add custom graphics to a PCB using EAGLE Layout Editor. You might want to add a logo or your website address to an electronics PCB that you have created. I found out that the process of adding images to a PCB was not trivial or obvious. In order to save everyone some time, I have listed out the process.

Front Panel Designer 4.0 released

The new Version 4.0 runs under Linux, Windows and MacOS X and offers an
integrated import filter and export filter for DXF files as standard.

The import of DXF files makes the design of exterior and interior
contours possible without restrictions, which means that the design of
front panels is not limited to simple geometric shapes. Consequently the
design of components of any shape is possible, which may be of interest
in the fields of model making, mechanical engineering (prototype
construction) and design.

An additional feature in Version 4.0 is the capture function at the
reference point for example, which allows elements to be positioned even
more comfortably and quickly on the front panel.

The Front Panel Designer user interface has also been revised in Version
4.0.
